Fahrer. I am not sure about the BMW design but with many diesels, the pump is powered by the camshaft belt/chain. This results imn much more strss on the belt/chain. For example, in the past VW recommended that gasoline engine cam belts be replaced at ~105,000 miles but for diesel engines, the recommendation was for about ~30,000 miles.
I have recently purchased an E60 530d M Sport on 54 plate. The car was overdue a service when I purchased it. Can anyone show me how to reset the service lights. The car has been serviced but the garage (not BMW) cannot work out how to reset. Any help would be appreciated. Graeme
